In this post, I want to cover another popular question: How do you style a corduroy jacket? There are so many different ways to wear a corduroy blazer, jacket, or coat in the winter months. How many layers do you use to stay both warm and stylish? Do you choose a corduroy jacket with a fabric lining or go heavier with a Sherpa liner? Is it even in style this season?
Today I will attempt to answer all these questions and even more.
Is it in style?
First of all, corduroy is classic.
Corduroy jackets are in style this fall/winter season and they will be in the seasons to come! I personally think it is acceptable to wear in the other seasons too, depending on the garment. It’s an amazing fabric that has so many different varieties. It’s soft to the touch, durable, and stands out in the crowd (according to every customer who purchased RYAN ORIGINALS’ corduroy jacket).
P.S. You don’t need to worry about this question at all when you own one of the RYAN ORIGINALS coats. Our vintage-inspired corduroy jackets are definitely both an investment and heritage piece that will turn heads every season.
What to wear with a corduroy jacket?
My advice? Have fun with it! Options can vary depending on your personal style or look you are going for.
Whether you go for a casual but polished look or a rugged yet sophisticated menswear style. A great way to compliment a corduroy jacket is with a simple turtleneck sweater. It’s a sure, great way to infuse both function and personality into your day-to-day fashion mix.
Here’s an example of how to wear a corduroy jacket on a very cold day in New York City.

From a single statement piece like a turtleneck to adding layers underneath works great too!

Denim is another great option to complement a corduroy jacket especially if you trying to achieve a rugged look
A denim shirt is another cool piece to pair with our vintage-inspired corduroy jacket and it will make you look sharp and stylish.
As for shoes? Anything really! From motorcycle boots to loafers, saddles to sneakers. My favorite are cowboy boots.
It is a fun, textured fabric with wonderful characteristics to experiment with wearing with a more rugged cowboy look or a dressed-up look for the city.
Sherpa or fabric lining?
The last question I would like to cover is the lining.
For those cold days, you may choose a sherpa lining if you are going for a more casual look. But if you want a coat you can dress both up or down and be distinctive and stand out in the crowd, we got you covered. RYAN ORIGINALS corduroy jackets have a wool and cotton blend blanket lining that you can get away with wearing from September till April. It is woven in the U.S.A. and is truly one of a kind, and designed for this coat.
I definitely will continue this conversation and share all the different ways to wear a corduroy jacket and I would love to hear how you would style a corduroy jacket.
